The Eight Principles
Do you like having fun?
After publishiing today's article:
7 Cross-Cultural Skills For Businesses To Master Social Media, I came across this video.
The Eight Principles It's not the first time I've seen it and enjoyed watching it once again.
One of the first principles "
Take time to figure out your DNA" reminded me of the 7th tip about the importance of self-knowledge in today's article. And of course, I love the last principle: "
Take action".
I'm a strategy person, and find it easy to see the "game" in business situations... I wonder if there is also an aspect of having fun in the game. The video is a bit longer than what I usually watch, but the music keeps you going.
Can you think of another principle to having fun?

Read the comments on this YouTube video, some of the countries may not be right. But I think this is a good visual reminder that people do things others would not think of doing elsewhere.
Which one is your favorite?
I think mine are the cow in the car wash and the escalators to go to the gym club.
Do you have other examples you could add to this?

Great sales skills are easy to spot anywhere.
"you have to understand that this poor kid doesn't have any formal training at all and he doesn't go to school, that kid earns his living by selling fans,he just picked up all those languages by talking to tourists..."

This has been around for a while, but I stumbled across this video again... and it is very good. It makes me think of the cultural differences in selling.
Some cultures would excel in these "negotiating" tactics better than others.
And some cultures get offended with any form of bargaining.
...and where does bargaining become offensive? Another area of cultural differences.

I like this scene because it is a clear example of how our accents can create pre-judgments in others.
